  • The contractor’s work involves widening and rehabilitating 1.1km of roadway along Port View Road;
  • The contractors will widen the road from an approximate 6m surfaced width to an 8.6m surfaced width, plus an additional 120m long lane for truck staging;
  • The rehabilitation comprises deep in-situ recycling and stabilisation of the existing gravel base and asphalt surfacing material to form a 300mm C3 subbase.
  • A pioneer layer will be added as part of the layer’s work.
  • The widening and additional lane for truck staging would require full-depth excavation and pavement.
  • Construction with imported material will comprise two selected layers and the 300mm thick stabilised subbase layer.
  • The entire roadway will overlain by an 80mm asphalt base and 40mm asphalt surfacing.
